Here we go folks, the last month of the year. Busy month it is too trying to fit everything in to what feels like shorter weeks. If you haven’t had a chance to see the Christmas trees in the church then stop by, the clubs and societies have all done an amazing job again this year. Many thanks to Sally Wyborn for organising and her team (Tony, Norman and David) who have staked the trees and set up the electrics for them. Big thanks to Furze Firs for suppling the trees and to all who donated to The Chestnut Tree House appeal. Tuesday the 5th flix in the sticks is showing Allelujah from 7.30pm. Dinner is available in the Crown from 6pm, please book if you wish to have dinner before. Thursday the 7th is Christmas Party day for The Evergreens and Capel assist monthly luncheon. Please contact Pat or Sally to let them know if you are attending. Capel Assist will be providing the desserts this month (and if you’re lucky a little tipple of sherry ). Thursday the 14th is Christmas Gin Club. There will be games, music and of course gin. Festive food is our dinner this month. Please let us know if you will be joining us for the evening starting at 6.30pm. Tuesday the 19th is Quiz night this year, starting at 6pm for festive food, there will be a raffle as well so bring your cash along. Remember to think about all things Christmas as our quiz mistress Corinne is bound to throw out a few sections on the season. Saturday the 23rd is the last open mic of the year. Come along and enjoy some mulled wine and entertainment, I’m sure there will be a number of Christmas songs and carols involved. Starts at 7.30pm. We will be open Christmas Day from 11.30-2.30pm why not pop in for a drink before your dinner. Finally to round of the festive season we will be doing a New Years Eve afternoon session party from 4pm-9pm. Starting our countdown with Hong Kong, there will also be a DJ for some Disco Dancing.
