Another month gone by, and it seems we are finally getting some summer weather, which means the garden is in full bloom and beautiful to sit in while having a cold beverage.
This month starts with Flix n Stix tomorrow night (6th June). They will be showing the Bill Nye film ‘Living’. Doors open 7.30pm with tickets at £6 per person cash or card on the door. For those that would like a meal before The Crown is doing a two course main and dessert for £13, please make sure you book in so you don’t miss out.
We have the West End Motor Club coming and showing their classic cars in our carpark on Thursday the 8th 12-3pm. Pop in and have a drink with them and they are happy to answer any questions you have on the vehicles that are on display. Then in the evening from 8pm we have Boxhill Bedlam Morris Dancing out on the patio. Come and enjoy a stomping evening of dance and music.
Cafe Church is back with us from 10.30am on Sunday the 11th June. A different more music led style of church for you to participate in.
Tuesday the 13th is Dine and Bingo in the Village Hall. Any donations for prizes please drop into the Sports Pavilion, or the hall on the night. £10 gets you dinner and a book.
Thursday the 15th June is our monthly Gin Club night. £10 for the gin tasting/cocktail session and £13 for two course dinner if you so choose. Please make sure to book in for both the sampling and the dinner.
There will be a few bulldogs around on Saturday the 17th June as we are doing a Bulldog walk fundraising event in aid of Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming. The walk will start at 11.30am all dogs and humans welcome. There will be raffles and a bbq going from about 1pm with all proceeds going towards the charity.
Then in the evening we have Open Mic from 7.30pm. This will be held outside if the weather is still fine. Contact Dik Hoogmoed at Capel Open Mic on Facebook to book your performance slot, or just come along and enjoy the entertainment on the night.
Our monthly quiz night has been brought forward to Tuesday the 20th June as the following week is the build up to Military show weekend. I’m sure our Quiz Mistress Corinne will have some questions about history focusing on war. The quiz is £2 per person for teams of 4. All money goes to the months charity. Winners receive a £5 food and drink voucher each. Dinner starts at 6pm with the quiz kicking off at 7.15pm. Please make sure to book your table in advance.
We will start to see military vehicles arriving over the next four weeks as they prepare for the 10th Anniversary of The Capel Military Show on the weekend of Friday 30th to Sunday 2nd July. Looking forward to another great show.
Last but not least, Ho’s Chinese van is parked in our carpark until further notice while he has his engine repaired. They will be open from 5pm to 9pm Tuesday to Sunday for takeaways, deliveries or eat in.
Look forward to seeing you over the month. Remember to phone or email us to book in for any of the dinners or events. Ph: 01306713250 Email: gladys@thecrowncapel.co.uk
