Happy Easter to you all, we hope you have managed to enjoy some of the fine weather over the weekend. Back to normal for a bank holiday Monday though with the overcast and drizzle. That’s ok because it gives you an excuse to sort through your cupboards and garages and set aside those things you no longer use and want to sell on at the big village garage sale this Saturday 15th April. If you would like to be included on the map, then contact Sally Wyborn or the pub and we will arrange. For those that wish to park up with a car boot sale then let the pub know and we can reserve you a place. Garage sale goes from 10.30-2.30pm at different places around the village, call into the pub to get your map of where they all are. (Available from Friday).
Tuesday 13th is quiz night, if you would like dinner before then please book your table in advance. Dinner starts from 6pm (chicken tagine with couscous and salad)with the quiz starting at 7pm. Tables of 4, at £2 per person with all money going to the monthly charity. Winning team each gets a £5 voucher for food or drink use at a future date.
Next week Thursday the 29th is Gin Club night, we have a nice kiwi gin to try this month. £10 gets you same gin samples and a couple of cocktails. Good excuse to come down and socialise, and why not join in the dinner afterwards. Please contact us to let us know if you will be joining us, so we can arrange which space to use. Saturday the 22nd is open mic night from 7.30pm. Come down and enjoy the evening, if you would like to get up and perform then contact Dik Hoogmoed and get your name on the list. Not long now and we can hopefully start performing in the garden with longer nights and hopefully nicer weather.
Don’t forget to book your dinner in for those that have signed up to do the Big Village Quiz on the 29th April in aid of Scott Broadwood school. Emma O’Neil is your point of contact for table bookings and dinner can be booked direct with the pub. Looking forward to a fab evening of raising some much needed funds for the school.
