It’s Party Week Capel

Party week has finally arrived! We hope you are all busy getting your bunting and decorations up, and filling your wheelbarrows full of flowers.
You still have until tomorrow Tuesday 31st May to order your picnic or afternoon tea hampers from us. These are being supplied by The Surrey HillsCafe and £5 from each one sold goes to charity. Charities benefiting from these are The Ollie Collective and Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming.
Hope to see lots of you out and supporting the efforts of the Village Committee over the four day weekend. Starting with the Beacon lighting on Thursday at 8pm, where Hill House Farm will be providing a Hog Roast and Dorking Brewery the beer. Also Ho’s Chinese will be at The Crown for those that would prefer. Friday there is children’s cricket before the much anticipated Capel’s Got Talent. There may be a couple of faces you recognise up on stage. Still time for you to enter an act if you wish as well. Capel has a home Cricket match on Saturday at the recreation ground, so fingers crossed the sun will shine. Here at the Crown we will be showing the Derby with prize for best fascinator or hat. Then in the evening it is a black tie casino night with The Mike Pigott Trio performing. Tickets including food and casino voucher £50, tickets just for casino and entertainment £20. Food tickets need to be preordered by Thursday please. Money raised from the casino night will be going to Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming. Sunday is the big picnic on the recreation ground with games and festivities organised. Bring your wellies with your picnic. Some tables and chairs will be provided but you are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket and walk down if possible as the carpark will be in use.
What a weekend it will be. All volunteers welcome back to The Crown for after party from 5.30pm.
Bring on the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
