Word on the Street

Well the sun is finally making an appearance, and we are getting so much closer to coming out of lockdown fully (no restrictions). Our paws (fingers for my hoomans), are crossed that there won’t be any set backs.
In the meantime there is still lots going on down here. The Capel Market starts this Saturday 5th from 8.30am-11.30am in the carpark. Why not pop down and see all the good things on offer. It’s a great chance to pick up some groceries and support our local businesses at the same time. We have farm to fork, fresh veg, spices, hill house farm (I do like my sausages), also an array of creative crafts. The pub will be open for coffee and muffins, cakes, savoury’s that you can enjoy in our garden.
Next Tuesday 8th sees our quiz night back in the pub (yay.) we will be opening from 5pm, so you can come down and get settled in before the questions start at 6.45pm. If you would like to participate via zoom instead, please send us a message so we can arrange it. We look forward to seeing you all down here again. And just think…we can be in teams now, so might have a chance of getting better scores :-).
This months charity is St Catherine’s Hospice. We will be holding a coffee and cake morning for them on Thursday the 17th June, and they will have a table with items on it for you to purchase. A big thank you to everyone for their donations to last months charity events, we raised £245 for Dementia UK.
Keep an eye out for more diary updates as the month goes on. And don’t forget to get your tickets in advance to our opening party on the 27th June. The BBC (British Bluescasting Corporation) will be playing the first gig of the year. They have just been recording an album, so should have some fab tunes to play for us. Tickets available from www.capelboxoffice.co.uk
See you all at the Market on Saturday if not before.
