Word on the Street

Goodbye January and Hello February.
Well that’s probably the hardest month over with now, and time to look forward to the next few months. All things considering it was an ok month for us. We managed to hold a zoom gin club and a zoom Burns night, thank you to all involved. Next year will be back in the pub, and we would like to see more Tartan involved ?.
A big thank you to all the quizzers each week, and huge thanks to the donations we raised for BGN our January Charity (over £200 ?). February we will be raising donations for The Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming Charity (this is close to my heart ❤️). Anyone is welcome to join us on the zoom for quiz every Tuesday from 6.45pm.
So what’s on this month then? This Saturday is Waitangi Day (New Zealand National Day), so as my hoomans are ‘Kiwis’ they have decided to do a takeaway kiwi burger on Saturday night. Be sure to get your orders in by 3pm on the day so you don’t miss out ??. Valentines Day is Sunday (14th for those that keep forgetting ?). Sunday is roast day so why not go for our special valentines meal for two. Just ask my hoomans what they have planned for you ❤️. Shrove Tuesday on the 16th means pancakes (? ?I’m sure there will be some lovely treats).
Our 2 year anniversary falls on Thursday the 18th, and what better way to celebrate (well in lockdown) than with Gin Club. I’m sure Aunty Vicki will have another few samples for you to try. Then Friday the 19th is Chinese New Year. Ho’s will be doing a set course menu from 12.30-2.00pm from the pub kitchen. Is very tasty to eat at once or to heat up later. They will also be with us on Friday the 26th.
So as you can see, still a lot going on. Takeaways available: Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays 12-2pm Friday and Saturday evenings 5-8pm. Donna’s Deli will be stocked up each week with more take home to heat pies. Have a look when you pop in to pick up your takeaway.
The Capel and Beare Green Magazine for February is now out, for those that don’t receive a hard copy then please use this link so you can keep up with what is going on in the Village. capelbearegreen.wordpress.com
